Monastery Close (2019)

TLTHA recently acquired an existing town centre housing development known as Monastery Close. Constructed as a retirement village in 2009, Monastery Close has a total of 34 one-bed apartments and two-bed bungalows, 17 of which were vacant when acquired.

The acquisition was finalised in June 2019 and since then we have undertaken all necessary repairs and allocated all the vacant units. A total of 26 of the units are occupied by approved applicants for social housing with the remaining 8 being private tenants. The development comprises a sustainable mix of adults who require accommodation, social and private, elderly and middle aged, persons with a disability and able bodied. Again, where outreach tenancy support is required, this is provided or facilitated if not being delivered by the staff of TLTHA. This development was officially opened by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, T.D. on 29th November 2019.
